LG is Coming with WOLED Display Technology!

Ana sayfa / News

LG Display is expanding its Tandem WOLED panel family by sharing its roadmap for next-generation display technologies for 2026. The company announced its new models, focusing on high refresh rates and ultra-wide resolutions, ahead of CES 2026.

The most notable product among those introduced is the 39-inch 5K ultra-wide panel. This new solution boasts a resolution of 5120 × 2160 and a pixel density of approximately 142 PPI. This value promises a visual experience equivalent to the sharpness offered by standard 31.5-inch 4K monitors. LG maintains the 800R curved design of previous generations on this wide panel, prioritizing immersion.

The company is also entering the 27-inch segment with two different Tandem WOLED solutions. The 27Q model is positioned as the fastest OLED panel on the market with a native refresh rate of 540Hz, although it’s stated that this speed can reach up to 720Hz in certain operating modes.

The other model, coded 27U, focuses directly on high resolution and pixel precision. With this panel, LG Display is preparing to launch a 27-inch 4K Tandem WOLED solution that will directly compete with Samsung’s 4K QD-OLED models for the first time. This move is seen as part of LG’s strategy to increase its market share in the professional and gaming-focused monitor market.

The new generation panels feature not only speed and resolution improvements but also structural changes. LG is eliminating white subpixels in the Tandem WOLED architecture and switching to a true RGB strip array. This change minimizes text fringing and color distortion, chronic problems in OLED displays, thus improving image clarity.

Although peak brightness values are pushed to 1,000 nits due to the true RGB structure, the color accuracy and text sharpness offered by the panel compensate for this loss. All technical details and commercial models of these panels, which will begin mass production in the early days of 2026, will be clarified at the CES trade show in January.
